We Are Indivisible: Happy Publication Day!

Congratulations to my clients Leah Greenberg and Ezra Levin, whose We Are Indivisible: A Blueprint for Democracy After Trump is out today.

Leah and Ezra are the couple whose Google doc helped launch a nationwide progressive advocacy movement. And I was so honored to get the call from them when they needed an editor in the early going. As they explain, they’ve written this book “because we believe American democracy is facing an existential threat, and we believe it can be saved.”

Their book describes Indivisible’s efforts to “create a broad and lasting movement devoted to fixing our broken democratic norms and institutions,” and lays out “a reform agenda for American democracy after Trump, a democracy that actually represents the people. That means breaking the gridlock in Washington, then moving on a bold agenda to reform our national institutions, from Congress to the Supreme Court to voting rights to the media. It’s an agenda to make democracy inclusive and functional, rooted in the radical belief at the heart of Indivisible: in a representative democracy, your representative ought to represent you.”

Bold, but not impossible, they argue. Here’s hoping. ¡Salud, amigos!
